What should a personal injury firm evaluate in EvenUp?
Evaluate EvenUp around the specific casework that is slowing the firm: medical organization, demand preparation, or another defined PI workflow. Its current platform describes work across intake, treatment, demands, negotiation, discovery, and trial. That breadth does not establish that every function belongs in your proposal.
The initial buying decision is who will prepare, verify, and approve the work. A firm with strong internal review capacity may evaluate a different service configuration from a firm that wants additional professional-review support. Compare those configurations explicitly rather than asking which AI brand is fastest.

What is the difference between Express Demands and expert-reviewed demands?
EvenUp presents Express Demands as AI drafting with the firm reviewing, editing, and finalizing. It separately describes AI plus professional review, delivered for attorney review. Express also describes line-level references and exhibit organization. Professional review is an additional service model, not a transfer of the attorney’s approval responsibility.
Ask the vendor to show the boundary of each service. Who checks the source packet for missing records? Who reconciles medical charges? Who revises a draft when a new record arrives? Who corrects an unsupported statement? Which changes consume additional usage or require a new order?
Compare total staff effort and elapsed time on the same task. An immediately available draft may be useful when the firm can review it promptly. A reviewed deliverable may be useful when internal preparation capacity is constrained. Neither removes a bottleneck if the final approving attorney has no capacity to complete the work.

What does MedChrons include, and is every chronology professionally reviewed?
EvenUp’s MedChrons page describes linked records, a searchable treatment timeline, prior history, and optional nurse review. It also presents an AI-only route alongside a professional-review route. Because the page discusses both, the proposal should name the deliverable and review level rather than relying on the word chronology.
Use a test packet with known prior treatment, a repeated document, and a late-arriving diagnostic report. Ask a reviewer to open the underlying record for a timeline entry. Then change the source packet and inspect how the chronology changes. Check whether a prior human correction is preserved or must be applied again.
If nurse review is proposed, ask what it includes, what remains outside scope, how questions are escalated, and when the firm receives the result. Clinical review, source verification, and legal evaluation are different activities; assign each rather than assuming one label covers all three.
Can EvenUp help identify missing records before a demand?
EvenUp’s case-preparation page describes missing-document checks, treatment timelines, case financials, and editable medical-bill summaries. Those features should be tested before the demand is drafted, when resolving an omission can still change the next action.
A missing-document flag needs an owner, not just a dashboard. During the pilot, record who requests the material, where the request is tracked, how an overdue item escalates, and whether the arrival closes the exception. Otherwise the tool can reveal an issue while the case remains stalled.
Test the meaning of complete. A system can organize everything uploaded without establishing that all relevant records were obtained. Compare its output with the firm’s provider list, request history, and attorney-approved readiness checklist.
How much does EvenUp cost, and what should the quote include?
EvenUp advertises case-based pricing, but we did not verify a public dollar schedule for a complete configuration. Its subscription terms, version September 3, 2026, define prepaid non-refundable credits and services specified by an order form. Under the default renewal language, orders renew for twelve months unless timely notice is given; a ramp period does not automatically repeat at renewal. Review the actual applicable order and terms with counsel.
Ask for a modeled invoice using your expected case mix. Separate straightforward demands, record-heavy cases, professional review, optional clinical review, revisions, and other platform usage. Ask when a case consumes usage and what happens to unused credits, duplicate cases, withdrawn matters, and additional records. These are questions to resolve, not assumptions about your contract.
Calculate the cost against accepted work. If staff reject or substantially rebuild an output, count the correction time. If the firm buys capacity it does not use, allocate that commitment across actual completed work when evaluating the economics. A case-based price is not inherently cheaper or more expensive than a seat-based one.

Which case-management integrations does EvenUp describe?
EvenUp’s integration page names Litify, SmartAdvocate, and CASEpeer, plus document connections for SharePoint, Google Drive, and Dropbox. It describes importing case data and files, and specifically notes a draft link returned to Litify. Confirm your exact configuration; do not generalize that example into universal two-way synchronization.
Request a live field-level demonstration with your proposed connector. Create a case, add a document, correct a field, revoke a user, and close the matter. Identify sync frequency, unsupported file types, size limits, failure alerts, duplicate handling, and the owner of each problem.
Decide where approved work will live. A link in the CMS and an exported final document serve different purposes. Test access after a user leaves and obtain an exit plan for records, final deliverables, and associated references.

Does EvenUp use case data for AI training?
EvenUp’s Trust Center distinguishes its own product/model improvement from third-party model training. It says third-party AI providers may not use case files to train their models, while describing learning statistical patterns to improve its own products. It also states that case data is stored in U.S. data centers and authorized personnel or providers may access it as needed to deliver services.
Do not compress that explanation into a blanket statement that no training or human access occurs. Ask for the applicable contractual treatment of your data, improvement uses, retention, deletion, access, and subprocessors. Have your firm’s reviewers determine whether the proposed use is acceptable.
Attorney oversight remains necessary. ABA Formal Opinion 512 addresses existing obligations when lawyers use generative AI. Have counsel evaluate applicable state rules, client agreements, and court requirements, including any proposal to allocate a technology charge to a client matter.
What should an EvenUp pilot measure?
Choose a bounded sample that reflects your real operating mix. Include a straightforward matter, a record-heavy matter, poor scans, prior injuries, missing material, and a late update. Use authorized or synthetic data. Apply the same completion standard to every case, and record exceptions rather than silently removing hard cases from the sample.
Measure preparation time, vendor processing or service wait, internal review, corrections, and handoff. Keep calendar time separate from human effort. If a draft is complete but awaiting attorney approval for days, the operating constraint is different from a slow initial draft.
Adopt only when the agreed quality threshold, integration behavior, staffing plan, and total cost work together. The right conclusion can be a limited rollout for one case type, a revised review configuration, or no purchase until the workflow is ready.
